Job Summary
Electrical/Computer Engineer II/III supporting critical ship system processes, design, and development for naval and maritime operations. Responsibilities include supporting process control equipment for ship systems, performing electric valve actuator assessments and technical assistance, contributing to design and modification of System Engineering Processes (SEP) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), reviewing technical documentation for fielded and future systems, providing integration design support in an industrial/shipboard environment, collaborating on solutions to enhance system performance and reliability, and applying expertise in Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications to improve shipboard operations. Qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, 4+ years electrical engineering experience, 3+ years HMI/PLC experience, and strong naval systems knowledge. The role emphasizes analytical/problem-solving abilities, industrial control systems expertise, and strong documentation skills to support Navy vessel operations.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with HMI and PLC applications
- Extensive experience with auxiliary fluid support systems and a strong understanding of Navy programs, organizations, and functions
- Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting tools
- Proficiency in the use of testing and diagnostic tools associated with industrial control systems
- Proficiency in designing, modeling, and testing advanced systems
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
- Knowledge of naval systems and shipboard operations
