Job Summary
Design Overhead and Underground Residential Distribution systems for electric utility projects, ensuring improved reliability through strategic initiatives. Participate in onsite distribution design, develop project objectives using Microsoft Project, and coordinate with Transmission & Distribution, contractors, and management on capital project definitions. Design, implement, and maintain digital distribution equipment such as automated capacitor banks and sectionalizing devices in coordination with protection and control groups. Provide technical assistance to the Distribution Department, attend meetings, and perform field assistance during hurricane and storm recovery. Work collaboratively with technology providers while adhering to safety policies and the National Electric Code.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field
- Five or more years of successful experience in Electrical Distribution Systems
- Preferable experience in the Electric Utility Industry
- relevant work experience in the engineering, construction, operations, of Electric Utility T&D systems and/or components
- valid automobile Driver's License
- Current State of Florida driver's license
- Process improvement skills and/or certifications
- Technical understanding of Electric Utility Distribution Systems
- AutoCAD design
- ability to gather and analyze data to create - modify One- Line CAD Drawings
- Safety awareness
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800
Desired Qualifications
- experience in PoleForeman or similar software knowledge
- Milsoft and/or ArcGIS knowledge
- Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel experience
