Job Summary
Electrical Distribution Engineer sought to design, analyze, and support overhead and underground medium- and low-voltage distribution systems. Responsibilities include creating engineering drawings, specifications, and construction packages; performing load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and protection coordination studies; ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements; coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams; providing technical support during construction and commissioning; and assisting with project scheduling, cost estimation, and progress reporting. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a P.Eng designation in Alberta or eligibility for registration with APEGA, and 3+ years of experience in electrical distribution design. Proficiency with CYME, Milsoft, AutoCAD, or PLS-CADD is advantageous. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Alberta, or eligibility for registration with APEGA.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical distribution design (overhead and/or underground).
- Familiarity with utility standards, CSA codes, and industry best practices.
