Electrical Designer - Water and Wastewater Facilities

Job Summary
Develop detailed electrical design drawings including single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, conduit and cable schedules, lighting and grounding plans, and equipment connection diagrams. Utilize AutoCAD to prepare construction documents and collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation teams. Apply NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local codes while incorporating control panel layouts, motor control circuits, and PLC I/O wiring. Assist in SCADA and instrumentation layouts and support the design team during bidding and construction phases by responding to RFIs, submittals, and as-built markups. Join a collaborative team in Pittsburgh focused on water, wastewater, and stormwater engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of electrical design experience
- Experience with water or wastewater treatment plants
- Understanding of power distribution
- Understanding of lighting design
- Understanding of standby power systems
- Understanding of VFDs
- Experience with or exposure to SCADA systems
- Experience with motor control centers
- Experience with process instrumentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of following CAD standards
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with other design tools besides AutoCAD
