Electrical Designer - Tissue Converting

Job Summary

Develop job-specific electrical schematics, layouts, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for new equipment and modifications, customizing designs to meet customer-specific requirements while maintaining Valmet standards. Support controls development by collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective solutions, evaluate new suppliers, and provide technical input for sales and customer service needs. Troubleshoot electrical and basic controls issues for field technicians, resolve non-conformities from suppliers, and assist in upgrading obsolete platforms. Participate in design reviews and support PLC/HMI program development. Travel up to 20% to customer sites for installation and commissioning support. Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, proficiency in AutoCAD or Eplan, and knowledge of PLC systems. Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin; no relocation or sponsorship available.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Design, or related field (or equivalent hands-on industry experience)
  • Strong ability to create: Electrical schematics and panel designs
  • Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Working knowledge of or ability to learn. Electrical control systems and components
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams (service, sales, customers)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, E3 or Eplan
  • Industry experience in tissue converting, packaging, or similar equipment
  • Working knowledge of or ability to learn. PLC systems (Rockwell, Siemens)
  • HMI systems
  • Travel as needed to customer sites to support installation, commissioning support, and troubleshooting (up to 20%)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD, E3 or Eplan
