Job Summary
Develop 2D and 3D substation design packages for HV substations, including single-line diagrams, physical layouts, conduit plans, grounding grids, lightning protection details, and bills of materials. Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated, high-quality design packages while incorporating feedback and revisions. Interpret client specifications, industry codes, and design standards to ensure drawings comply with company and project drafting standards. Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Requires an Associate degree in Engineering Technology and 4+ years of experience designing 15kV–345kV utility substations. Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of experience designing 15kV–345kV utility substations
- Working knowledge of IEEE and ANSI standards related to substation design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of substation physical design and drafting practices
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
