Job Summary
Conduct electrical engineering consulting services, including system evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical recommendations. Perform and oversee field reviews, testing, data collection, design, report, and specification writing for new construction and retrofit projects in commercial and high-rise residential sectors. Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for tendering and submit documentation to authorities having jurisdiction. Review drawings and specifications to verify compliance with project specifications and standards, while managing contract administration and leading tender analysis meetings with clients. Coordinate pre-bid, pre-start, progress, and final project site meetings, and provide technical assistance to field technicians. Manage multiple projects involving various scopes, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery through collaboration with other engineering disciplines. Represent Rimkus at client meetings and networking functions, staying updated on industry standards to deliver innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology with a specialization of Electrical Engineering
- Possession of Professional Engineering stamps in Ontario and other provinces is considered an asset. Candidate expectation is at minimum to be eligible for PEO Licensure, or ability to obtain in near future (working towards)
- Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience at an engineering consulting firm
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required
- Proficiency in design and analysis tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit or similar software) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; technical writing skills are required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Clear vision and depth perception
- Must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports
- Must be available for overtime (or working after normal business hours)
- Must be available for up to 60% local area travel
- Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required
