Job Summary
Electrical Designer in Oil, Gas & Chemical practice responsible for leading grounding systems, duct banks, cable trays, area classification, and lighting layouts from concept to delivery; prepare and deliver complete electrical design documents (plan views, installation details, sectional drawings); perform lighting, conduit, cable tray, and duct bank calculations; develop accurate 3D models of electrical systems; produce schematics and one-line diagrams; ensure drawings comply with internal standards, client requirements, and project specifications; manage design changes and revisions; interpret applicable codes; review and deliver design packages within scope, budget, and schedule; collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment; continuously expand knowledge of industrial construction practices and gain field experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field with seven years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with eight years of experience, or nine years of progressive design and detailing experience.
- Three or more years of experience in refining, gas processing, or pipeline projects preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of CEC, NEC, electrical fundamentals, industrial construction practices, industrial safety, and CAD standards.
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D design tools such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, SmartPlant Review, and Navisworks.
