Job Summary
Create electrical design packages, schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for low and medium voltage switchgear assemblies. Develop Bills of Materials, wire lists, and terminal block drawings while maintaining standard parts databases and electrical symbol libraries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering change orders, project management, and field service groups, ensuring designs meet regulatory and manufacturing requirements. Produce record and as-built drawings based on production markups, adhering to strict version control and documentation standards. Frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations and ensure safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in electrical drafting or design, preferably in switchgear or related industry
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Inventor
- Hands-on experience in panel building and wiring
- Experience in the design of LV electrical switchgear- UL891, UL1558
- Experience in the design of MV metal clad/ metal enclosed Switchgear IEEE C37.20.2/3
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
- Satisfactory completion of additional background screening
- FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
- This role will be in office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards
- Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs
- Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards
- Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members
- Frequent travel to regional sites required; presence on production floors is expected
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferred
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric Power Pact, MTZ, MV breakers is a plus
