Job Summary
Research applicable electrical and fire codes to ensure all documents comply with requirements, then complete 2-3 electrical sheets per set of construction documents including line diagrams, floorplans, lighting sheets, and panel schedules. Collaborate with the Electrical Engineer to produce accurate, code-compliant designs for buildings and industrial facilities, while developing schematics, performing load calculations, and selecting components. Coordinate with construction teams to assist with installations and conduct site visits to monitor progress. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed plans, prepare documentation, and participate in project meetings. Complete approximately 5-6 project sets per month.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or greater in drafting, electrical engineering, architecture, or a similar field
- At least 1 year of professional experience in electrical drafting, utilizing AutoCAD or Revit
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to research and apply electrical and fire code requirements
- Understanding of mechanical design elements
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, schematics, drawings, and models
- Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, and their interrelationships
- Ability to lift and/or move items up to 15 lbs. occasionally
