Job Summary
Electrical Designer position within Cushing Terrell focused on wiring, lighting, power distribution, and coordination across renovation and new-build retail projects. On-site in Kalispell, MT; Bozeman, MT; or Denver, CO, contributing to construction documents from initial design through QC review and construction administration. Responsibilities include producing electrical design drawings in Revit and AutoCAD (lighting plans, power layouts, panel schedules, one-line diagrams), performing load calculations and voltage drop analyses, interpreting client prototypes, coordinating with Engineers of Record and other designers, supporting RFIs and permitting, and conducting site surveys to inform remodel designs. Opportunities to grow toward client relationships or team leadership; potential to specialize across healthcare, education, or other markets over time.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in electrical building design
- Proficiency in Revit for electrical modeling, or demonstrated proficiency in electrical design principles with working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of NEC requirements, including branch circuit design, panel schedules, conductor sizing, and load calculations
- Familiarity with lighting design fundamentals, including IES footcandle standards and lighting controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
