Job Summary
Electrical Designer needed for a manufacturing facility in York, PA to design electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies for high-speed automation including robotics. Responsibilities include design and detailing of equipment electrical parts, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams; supporting R&D with imaginative ideas; ensuring economical, safe, and durable assemblies; interfacing with clients and vendors; drafting and purchasing components; and troubleshooting during shop assembly. Requires a 2-year associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related experience (5+ years) and proficiency with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical; familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and UL 508AMTR certification or willingness to obtain; ability to work in a team, strong communication skills, and willingness for limited travel. Required Qualifications
- 2-year associates degree (A.S.) in Electrical Engineering or 5 years progressive experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Vault a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of basic electrical system design and components such as contractors, fuses, relays, terminal blocks and transformers
- Capable of independently solving problems and bringing problems to resolution
- Knowledge of electrical components and assemblies such as VFDs, PLCs and Sensors
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must effectively communicate with employees, vendors and clients
- Knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles a plus
- Limited travel required for site evaluations
- UL 508A MTR certification or willing to obtain
- Design and detail of equipment electrical parts and systems
