Job Summary
The Electrical Designer role involves performing electrical design, application, and checking duties to modify schematics and adapt existing designs for customer requirements. Key responsibilities include developing electrical designs for new machines, modifying existing designs, preparing layouts using CAD tools, performing electrical calculations, and creating documentation. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of electrical design principles and codes, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with CAD tools.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate or technical degree in electrical design or drafting preferred
- 2+ yearsโ electrical design experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical assembly layouts
- Working knowledge of fundamental electrical design principles and applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL)
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computer-aided design tools, including 2D CAD systems (Required)
- Ability to work independently while supporting team-based workflows
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively within customer facilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multitask and adapt to changing requirements
