Job Summary
Electrical Design Manager leading and mentoring an electrical engineering team on multi-discipline design projects for commercial, institutional, and public-sector facilities. Provides technical leadership, oversees lighting, power distribution, IT (voice/data), access control, life safety, electronic security, and fire alarm systems; guides projects through design, code compliance, and client interactions; participates in proposals, staffing, scheduling, and budgets; supports business development and client relationships; requires 10+ years of engineering experience, 5+ years in leadership, and PE licensure with Florida eligibility. Occasional nights/weekends may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Florida PE licensure within six months or ability to obtain
- 10+ years progressive electrical engineering experience
- Minimum of 5 years in technical leadership or team lead role
- Experience leading complex, multi-discipline engineering projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with SKM and/or ETAP is a plus
- Familiarity with MS Project, PowerPoint, and SharePoint preferred
- Licensure to pursue multi-state licensure preferred
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
