Electrical Design Intern - Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (Summer 2027)

Job Summary
Report project progression updates and issues to Lead Electrical Designers. Utilize national and local codes to develop 3D models, check for interferences, and create plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables. Generate schematics, one-line drawings, and cable schedules while maintaining master drawing sets and managing revisions. Complete as-built records using RFIs and ECNs, and resolve checked drawings by addressing comments. Model electrical components using vendor submittals and participate in project meetings as required. Work during normal operating hours with overtime and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Associates, Vocational or Bachelor's degree in Design & Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology or Design or a related degree
- Basic experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, or Navisworks
- knowledge of the latest computer operating systems
- Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment
- Must be able to communicate through emails and utilize electronic meeting requests
- Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and PDF software
- Must be able to represent Kiewit manner to owners, contractors, vendors and any other contacts outside the Kiewit organization
- Regular, reliable attendance

- Perform work safely and effectively
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
