Job Summary
Produce comprehensive facility electrical designs under project engineer guidance by applying Revit, AutoCAD, and photometric software to develop power, lighting, and fire alarm plans, single line diagrams, and schedules. Coordinate mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection system requirements into the electrical design while adhering to codes, standards, and best practices. Take personal ownership of all work produced and implement direction from the project engineer. This role requires proficiency in electrical theory and calculations, strong communication skills for collaborative team environments, and relevant technical experience in an A/E office or consulting firm.
Required Qualifications
- Understand basic electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices
- Have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs and direction from the project engineer
- Apply Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support project designs
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices with the ability to apply them within the electrical design
- Be able to develop and draft power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules
- Understand the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design
- Take personal ownership of the work produced
- Vocation school, military training, college degree, field experience, proven relevant technical experience
- Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software
- Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to participate in a collaborative team environment
