Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design electrical schematics, harnesses, and parts assemblies for mobile machinery while specifying hardware and software to control trucks. Create drawings and bills of materials in accordance with company standards, then coordinate development tasks with suppliers and support prototype and field test equipment during construction and commissioning. Troubleshoot and resolve issues for both new and existing products to ensure smooth transitions from design to deployment. This role requires occasional travel and collaboration with mechanical, hydraulic, and test engineers within the Product Development and Construction team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Hands-on experience with cradle-to-production design and testing of electrical systems
- Experience in mobile machine design
- Hands-on experience with electronic testing equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, programmable load, etc.)
- Knowledge of CAN/CANopen protocols and tools such as CANalyzer or CANoe
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools
- Fluency in English
- Occasional travel
- Hybrid work out of Houston, Texas office
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cradle-to-production design and testing of electrical systems (0–3 years preferred)
- Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus
- Proficiency with SAP, E3 Series 2014, and DOORS
- Familiarity in 3D CAD, ideally CATIA V5
