Job Summary
Electrical Design Engineer responsible for designing and coordinating electrical power distribution and lighting systems for commercial workplace projects in New York City. Utilize Revit/BIM workflows to develop construction documents (power plans, lighting plans, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts), perform load analysis and voltage drop calculations, specify electrical equipment, support basis-of-design narratives and specifications, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, conduct field surveys, and assist in construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits, punch lists, closeout). Proficient in Revit for electrical design; participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary design reviews. Opportunity to work on high-performance corporate environments and mission-critical facilities with exposure to extensive NYC office space.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5–15 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering
- Strong experience designing commercial building electrical systems and producing construction documents
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM for electrical design and project delivery
- Experience designing power distribution systems, lighting systems, and electrical equipment layouts
- Knowledge of grounding, bonding, emergency power, and life safety systems
- Strong understanding of commercial building electrical design practices
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced consulting engineering environment
