Job Summary
Design and develop aircraft electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and cable assemblies while creating 2D and 3D models and documentation. Perform electrical load analysis, support system integration and testing, and investigate manufacturing issues related to electrical installations. Maintain engineering drawings, process engineering change documents, and configuration control within Product Data Management systems. Collaborate with production, quality, and cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and support design reviews. Work independently or under guidance to ensure electrical installations meet FAA regulations and Epic Aircraft standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles and circuit design
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with engineering design and documentation practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Demonstrated experience designing aircraft electrical systems, wiring, or cable/harness assemblies
- Strong understanding of aircraft electrical installation practices and applicable aerospace standards
- Experience interpreting and creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
- Experience with engineering change processes and configuration control
- Ability to independently manage engineering assignments and meet project schedules
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace or aircraft electrical design experience
- Experience with aircraft wiring and cable/harness design
- Knowledge of FAA certification requirements and applicable aerospace standards
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD or electrical design software
- Experience with electrical load analysis and power distribution
- Familiarity with aircraft electrical installation requirements, including wire separation, bonding, shielding, grounding, and routing
- Experience with SolidWorks or SolidWorks Electrical
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Experience supporting aircraft production and manufacturing environments
- Experience participating in PDRs, CDRs, or other formal engineering design reviews
- Experience working with suppliers on technical and certification requirements
