Job Summary
Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering design documents for smart grid and power distribution projects, including single line diagrams, schematics, and MV/LV network layouts. Conduct load flow, short circuit, and protection studies using industry software like ETAP and DIgSILENT, while reviewing and approving vendor and contractor design submissions. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues, support feasibility studies, and provide site assistance during testing and commissioning phases. Ensure all designs adhere to international IEC/IEEE standards and local UAE regulations. This role supports a fast-growing Abu Dhabi startup delivering end-to-end electrical engineering consultancy solutions from concept to execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical design / power systems / smart grid projects
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis and grid infrastructure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in consultancy or design environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup setting
- Software: AutoCAD, ETAP, PSS SINCAL, MS Office
- Strong expertise in protection & control systems, SCMS, and substation design
- In-depth knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards
