Job Summary
Senior Electrical Design Engineer role focused on designing and supervising electrical power distribution systems (LV up to 480V, MV up to 15kV), specifying equipment (switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, transformers), developing contract drawings (2D/3D), conducting short circuit and arc flash studies, preparing construction specifications, and providing field support. Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project scope, schedule, and budget. Remote work is available with occasional travel to South Florida client sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Typically licensed professional engineer or working towards licensure
- 8+ years preferred experience (Engineer of Record)
- Leadership or mentorship experience
- Experience in electrical power distribution design and motor control systems
- Proficiency in 2D/3D design
- Strong coordination with civil/structural/mechanical disciplines
- Ability to interact with clients and manage projects
