Job Summary
Electrical Controls Engineer responsible for supporting design from concept to completion for designated projects within electrical engineering; develop control designs compliant with standards and codes; translate requirements into designs and coordinate across disciplines; read and edit logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and P&ID; prepare drawings, specifications, and BOMs; conduct factory and site acceptance tests of electrical equipment; calibrate gas and flame sensors and other safety devices; assist with installation of control panels and devices; troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems; participate in safety programs and stay current on engineering developments; mentor team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology
- Ability to travel up to 30%, with occasional overnight travel
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct client site visits
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and effectively work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot failures
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills; able to analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
