Job Summary
Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer responsible for designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation systems for regulated nuclear projects through the full project lifecycle, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and technical excellence. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions, supports testing, commissioning and acceptance, and engages with clients, regulators and supply chain partners. Role is based at Cavendish locations in the UK (Warrington, Bristol, Leicester, Humberside or Cumbria) with hybrid pattern requiring a minimum of 3 days on site and 37 hours per week. Requires a degree in electrical/control/instrumentation engineering (or equivalent), and eligibility to obtain/maintain UK security clearance; professional registration is preferred. Flexible UK-wide location while operating within UK sites; security clearance is mandatory and the role emphasizes safety, governance, documentation and stakeholder engagement across regulated nuclear programmes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an electrical, control, instrumentation or related engineering discipline
- Willingness to work towards professional engineering registration (preferred)
- Security clearance to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC)
- Experience designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation systems within regulated industries
- Knowledge of safety, compliance and governance requirements in high-hazard environments
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition and instrumentation software
- Experience in project-based environments including documentation, testing and commissioning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
