Job Summary
Electrical Construction Scheduler / Senior Electrical Estimator role focused on developing accurate and timely electrical construction estimates for bid/proposal packages, leading estimating team efforts, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and project teams. Responsibilities include preparing budget pricing from schematics, drafting scope letters and vendor solicitations, attending pre-bid activities, maintaining estimating databases, ensuring estimates align with company standards, reviewing others’ estimates for accuracy, and handing off scopes to operations with detailed documentation. Requires experience in estimating large electrical projects, familiarity with electrical design calculations, and proficiency with estimating software and scheduling tools. Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of estimating and preconstruction bid experience of large electrical projects
- Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations; Voltage-drop, Ohm’s law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc.
- Proven experience in driving the successful execution of the bid process for $10 million to $100 million bids
- Electrical Contracting experience a must
- Have and/or build the industry contacts that will contribute to bid success
- Solid knowledge of Estimating software - Accubid Anywhere with LiveCount, McCormick, Bluebeam, and a deep understanding of ContEst a plus
- Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills a plus
- Computer Savvy – Microsoft – Teams, Outlook, PP, Word, MS Project (scheduling with Activities and resources, etc.), MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, graphing), Adobe, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and Procure
- Solid Communicator – (written and verbal)
- Possess highly refined analytical / problem solving abilities
- Ability to successfully work independently; Self Starter, self-motivated, attention to detail and should prioritize well
