Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct construction and maintenance activities for structures, facilities, and systems. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. Assist with project delivery strategies, schedule projects in logical steps, and coordinate procurement, contractor selection, contract paperwork, and changes. Manage QA/QC quality control plans, safety management plans, building permits, and code compliance. Direct weekly construction meetings, prepare progress reports, review contractor payment applications, create cost reports, and coordinate punch list preparation and project close-out. Requires a bachelor's degree, seven years of experience, a state license, OSHA training, and proficiency with project scheduling and construction management software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field
- seven years relevant experience
- Must be highly articulate
- clear and analytical approach to problem solving
- strong decision making abilities
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- strong construction estimating skills
- strong knowledge of construction and procurement strategies
- proficiency with project scheduling software
- ability to navigate Web-based construction management software
- thorough understanding and utilization of Information Technology including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- building construction/state license
- 30 hour training in OSHA safety requirements
- CMAA/PMI
