Job Summary
Electrical Construction Inspector responsible for on-site verification of construction activities against plans, specifications, and safety requirements. Duties include verifying elevations and coordinates, ensuring work stays within government land boundaries and easements, attending construction-related meetings, generating daily inspection reports with photos, overseeing contractor quality control and safety, coordinating with Reclamation field staff, and supporting contract compliance. Requires familiarity with engineering drawings and contract documents, experience with earthwork and concrete activities (including CLSM), knowledge of OSHA and Reclamation Safety and Health Standards, ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional travel, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in similar construction projects
- Education knowledge of engineering principles related to water systems (wells, water treatment, distribution)
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and contract documents
- Proficient in field inspections, quality control, and safety standards (OSHA/RSHS)
- Ability to work on-site in construction environments with variable hours
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Proficient in MS Office and Acrobat
