Job Summary
Electrical Construction Estimator to develop accurate, field-informed cost estimates for industrial electrical construction and installation projects. Responsibilities include analyzing bid packages, performing takeoffs and interpretive work on electrical drawings (schematics, P&IDs, isometrics), coordinating with construction managers, engineers, tradespeople, and vendors, validating scope and conditions through site walks, ensuring compliance with NEC/NFPA 70 and OSHA, managing vendor quotes and material procurement, and supporting schedule alignment and cost tracking. Office-based with regular field visits to construction and industrial sites; requires travel locally. Emphasizes translating drawings into practical execution plans, costs, and risks with a focus on cost efficiency and estimating accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of electrical field construction experience
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Strong hands-on knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation and control wiring
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, P&IDs, and multi-view and isometric drawings
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA standards
- Experience with estimating tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to balance office-based estimating with field validation
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel locally for site visits
