Job Summary
Electrical Commissioning Engineer responsible for planning and executing commissioning activities within the CQV team for electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, substations, emergency generators, distribution equipment, and building systems. Develop commissioning specifications, plans, and checklists; review contractor submittals and shop drawings; conduct field inspections; coordinate with construction managers, contractors, and vendors; witness equipment startups; perform NETA testing and functional performance testing; review power quality reports and harmonic analysis; work with project teams to resolve issues; participate in vendor training; prepare final commissioning reports and turnover packages. Requires a BA or AS in electrical engineering or related discipline (or equivalent) with 3-5 years of design and/or field experience, willing to travel overnight and commute to multiple job sites. Preferred experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, Healthcare, Laboratory, Telecom, or Mission Critical industries; OSHA training; technical writing; and familiarity with cGMP documentation practices.
Required Qualifications
- BA or AS degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent technical degree and experience
- Demonstrated strengths in Electrical Distribution Systems, Generator sets, Lighting, Fire Alarm, and other low-voltage electrical systems
- Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to commute to multiple job sites during the workweek
- Overnight travel will be required when supporting out-of-town projects
- Experience with Electrical distribution (medium voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, and electrical metering)
- Experience with Emergency/standby power (generators, ATS, paralleling systems)
- Experience with UPS systems and related backup technologies
- Breaker coordination, arc flash, and short circuit studies
- Building Automation Systems (BAS), EPMS, and SCADA systems
- Monitoring and automation systems such as PLC systems
- An understanding of basic cGMP requirements and good documentation practices
