Job Summary

Develop 2D schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and harness/cable drawings in SolidWorks Electrical Professional linked to 3D mechanical models. Generate panel layouts for electrical cabinets including PLC I/O, power distribution, and PC integration, while translating system interface control documents into compliant cabling designs for optical and motion subassemblies. Produce 2D detail, assembly, and manufacturing drawings from existing SolidWorks models with GD&T, tolerances, and title blocks per standards. Coordinate with mechanical, optical, and controls engineers to resolve routing conflicts and support design reviews with fabrication-ready documentation packages. Based in San Diego, this SolidWorks-native role requires 3+ years of experience and ASME Y14.5 drawing proficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electrical/CAD drafting, electrical engineering technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education and hands-on SolidWorks Electrical Professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD ecosystem, specifically: SolidWorks Electrical Professional — both 3D harness/routing design and 2D schematic/cabling documentation
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD ecosystem, specifically: SolidWorks Mechanical — producing 2D detail and assembly drawings from existing models, including exploded views and presentation configurations
  • Demonstrated experience generating wire lists, cable harness drawings, and panel schematics for fabricated hardware
  • Experience generating dimensioned manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks per ASME Y14.5, including proper application of GD&T controls, tolerance callouts, and drawing notes for fabricated parts and assemblies
  • Comfort working across varied project scopes, from cabling packages to full cabinet builds with PLCs and significant I/O requirements
  • Ability to work from system architecture diagrams, ICDs, and I/O lists produced by engineers, and deliver complete documentation
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)
