Job Summary
Electrical & Automation Technician responsible for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment in a food-packaging environment. Key duties include disassembling/assembling production equipment, replacing worn parts, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, installing and maintaining automated systems, programming and setting up production equipment to required parameters, reading blueprints/schematics, and programming/troubleshooting PLCs. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in cold/wet facility conditions, and adhere to safety, food safety, and environmental standards. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and technical training; PLC knowledge (FactoryTalk, Studio 5000 Logics 500) and experience in automation in a food packaging context are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical School
- Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs, Factory Talk, Studio 5000 Logics 500)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, computers & IT, switches
- Must be willing and able to work varying hours
- Proven ability to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment
- Experience with reading equipment manuals and electrical schematics
