Job Summary
Electrical Automation Engineer to design, implement, and troubleshoot PLC/DCS control systems for cement manufacturing. Responsibilities include design and implementation of control strategies based on plant processes, assisting multi-faceted upgrades to plant controls (including personnel, programming, HMI and budgeting), reviewing hardware architecture for PLC-based control systems, programming PLCs and DCS (Control Logix, Siemens, GE, SCL500, PLC5), learning FLS ASYS function blocks and HMI graphics, creating custom PLC code to integrate sub-systems, coordinating startup/checkouts/commissioning with project teams, updating and backing up control system documentation, participating in upgrade meetings, mentoring younger engineers or interns, and traveling within the US for meetings and upgrades. Requires 3-5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing, PLC logic development across Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, FLS ASYS, familiarity with Profinet/Profibus/TCP/IP/RS-232/RS-485, and ability to work both independently and in teams; open to travel 30%-40% and post-offer pre-employment screenings; knowledge of DCS, historian databases, CAD (AutoCAD), P&ID drawings, and data interfacing with SQL databases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer science, or another Engineering degree with related experience in controls and automation
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing
- Proficiency in English
- Troubleshooting skills
- Experience in writing PLC logic, developing programs and troubleshooting for various existing PLC systems including Rockwell Allen Bradley/Siemens/GE/FLS ASYS function block
