Job Summary
Assemble basic electrical components by cutting, stripping, crimping, and labeling wires according to schematics while mounting components, bending conduit, and routing cables. Inspect electronic assemblies for correct component selection and wiring placement, then maintain accurate records of tasks, deviations, and quality concerns. Adhere strictly to safety protocols when handling tools, equipment, and materials, reporting hazards promptly. Use overhead cranes, ladders, and material handling equipment to move and position assembly materials. Complete in-house training to read blueprints and Bills of Materials, and meet department targets for quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 0-5 years of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes
- Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers
- Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools
- Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team
- Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
- Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs
- Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes
- Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees
- Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs
- Ability to cut, strip, crimp, and label wires according to schematics and assembly instructions
- Ability to mount electrical components while bending conduit and routing and securing cables neatly within assemblies
- Ability to inspect electronic components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection, placement, and wiring, according to quality standards
- Ability to maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns
- Ability to use an overhead crane, ladders, and other material handling equipment to move and position materials for assembly
- Ability to push motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs
- Ability to pull motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs
- Ability to stand for all tasks with intermittent walking
- Ability to walk moderate distances (less than 1km)
- Ability to carry items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs
- Must be available for Day Shift (Monday – Friday; 6:30 am – 3:00 pm)
- Must be available for Afternoon Shift (Monday – Thursday; 4:00 pm - 2:00 am)
- Must be available for Weekend Shift (Friday – Sunday; 6:00 am- 6:00 pm)
