Job Summary
Electrical Apprentice will assist Journeymen and Master Electricians with installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical and instrumentation equipment in an industrial environment. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing conduit; installing tubing for instruments; pulling wiring through conduit and labeling; connecting wiring to controllers and instruments; testing circuit continuity with instruments such as a multimeter (volt, amp & ohmmeter); mounting instruments and electrical panels; observing for hazards and determining adjustments or replacements; assisting in testing, troubleshooting, and repair of wiring and connections; maintaining a safe work environment with PPE; collaborating with other electricians and contractors on larger projects; and performing other duties as assigned. The role may require travel with per diem, mileage, and gas reimbursement. Requires adherence to safety standards and OBR qualifications. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Knowledge and application of safety standards
- Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices through training, vocational schooling, or apprenticeship program
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience as an Electrician in a construction/industrial setting
- Currently enrolled/willing to enroll in an apprenticeship program
- Experience with common tools such as hand tools, power tools (saws, drills), machinery (conduit cutters), multimeters, tubing bender and cutters
Additional Requirements
- Negative 10-panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test
- Valid Driver's License and proof of U.S. Citizenship
- Satisfactory background check
