Job Summary
Install electrical control systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects, while working in construction environments with potential restricted movement and heights. Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and code specifications to determine wiring layouts. Cut, bend, thread conduits, and pull wire through enclosures. Install, replace, and repair control equipment such as relays, sensors, and panels. Troubleshoot faults, splice wires, and connect components to form complete control systems. Perform tasks with minimal supervision while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies. Requires an indentured apprentice in Alberta, high school diploma, and knowledge of electrical theory.
Required Qualifications
- Main skill required, Indentured Apprentice in Alberta (1st-4thYear) with conduit experience
- High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college
- Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology
- Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
- Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral
- Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work
- Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC, building electrical systems and VFD's an asset
