Job Summary
Assist a Licensed Electrician with the installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical systems and associated processes. Prepare sketches showing wiring locations or follow blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using hand and power tools. Oversee wire installation with conduit and cable trays, then install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels. Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. Test circuit continuity using instruments like ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes to ensure electrical compatibility and safety. Observe functioning equipment to determine hazards and needs for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules, quality standards, and local electrical codes while participating in site housekeeping. Perform other routine duties as directed by the workplace leader.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of Field Experience, trade school or apprenticeship
- Appropriate state certification or license
- OSHA 10 certification
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good documentation and record keeping
- Understanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Ability to perform tasks in all aspects of construction sites
- Ability to climb ladders and crawl as needed
- Ability to work from aerial lifts
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs
