Job Summary
Aid the Electrical Foreman on industrial electrical projects by bending conduit, pulling wire, and utilizing standard testing equipment. Take continuous direction to support apprentices, journeymen, and foremen while following instructions to ensure tasks complete efficiently. Keep job sites clean, handle material loading and unloading, and ensure safety standards are met. Fuel and wash department vehicles, and gain essential carpentry skills to progress within the electrical department. Troubleshoot lighting control systems, install switchboards, and read blueprints while maintaining attention to detail. Maintain a valid driver's license and ability to operate lifts.
Required Qualifications
- 3-4 years of previous electrical (Residential/Commercial/Industrial experience)
- State of Michigan Registered Electrical Apprentice License
- Participate in our employer sponsored DOL electrical apprenticeship through SEMCA
- Troubleshoot Lighting Control Systems
- Able to install Switchboards
- Knowledge of Testing Equipment
- Conduit sizing and conduit fill
- Blueprint reading
- Arc flash training
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Ability to take direction
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain
