Job Summary
Electrical and Controls Project Engineer responsible for developing electrical and control system specifications for manufacturing equipment, creating and maintaining electrical/instrumentation/control documentation, and leading continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure project delivery, support maintenance and site breakdowns, participate in technical support call-out rota to minimize downtime, propose and implement control system improvements, plan and manage project timelines with minimal production disruption, and communicate project progress to management.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Background in electrical controls/instrumentation engineering
- Experience in manufacturing or process environments
- Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g. Rockwell Logix 5000 & 500, RSView)
- Understanding of safety systems (e.g. SIL, Safety PLCs)
- Knowledge of industrial drives (e.g. Allen Bradley, ABB)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills (e.g. 4–20mA loops, controllers)
- Familiarity with risk assessment methods (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA)
- Understanding of ATEX, commissioning, and machine safety standards
- Competence in Microsoft Office and basic CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, EPlan)
- Eligible to work in the country where the position is based
