Job Summary
Electrical and Automation Design Engineer in the greater Chicago area focusing on the engineering design of Water/Wastewater technology and electrical/instrumentation/control systems. Design responsibilities include automation, SCADA, PLC architecture, instrumentation, and related hardware/software; develop electrical distribution systems, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment elevations, P&IDs, and detailed control panel wiring schematics; prepare submittal packages and project specifications; may conduct on-site client visits; collaborate with leadership to update design standards and ensure compliance with codes and industry practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
- 4+ years’ experience in electrical design preferred
- AutoCAD experience required
- Revit experience is a plus
- Visio experience a plus or must be willing to be quickly trained
- SKM or other electrical study software is a plus
- Effective oral, written, & digital communication skills
- Able to interact with other design staff
- Organizational skills for productive task and time management
- Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner
- P.E. license is preferred. EIT preferred with experience in the field working towards a PE
