Job Summary
Conduct wire checks on relay panels and equipment cabinets while supporting current transformer verification, electromechanical relay testing, and substation equipment diagnostics. Create cable pull schedules, apply wire identification tags, and transport dissolved gas analysis oil samples to the lab. Review and upload infrared thermography reports, capture commissioning and maintenance test data, and operate company vehicles as needed. Perform duties under direct supervision with a weight restriction of 290 pounds and a requirement to live within one hour of the service territory.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- GED
- 1-2 years of basic knowledge of electrical and electronic theory experience preferred
- Basic print reading skills
- Basic understanding of protection and control drawings
- Basic understanding of test equipment used for construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
- Basic understanding of substation fundamentals and corporate safety expectations
- Basic understanding of departmental expectations regarding departmental computer usage
- Basic understanding of departmental physical and cyber security policies
- Basic understanding of available Human Performance tools and their functions
- Basic understanding of departmental software used for asset management, record keeping, and testing
- Effective computer skills with software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Weight restriction of 290 pounds
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Must live within a reasonable travel range (1 hour) of the service territory
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
