Job Summary
Repair and maintain overhead and underground electrical distribution lines, serving as the first responder to power outages and storm restoration events. Locate and repair cable faults, replace fuses with appropriate hot sticks, perform minimal switching, and remove trees from overhead conductors. Work alone 90% of the time while driving, responding to callouts and overtime availability on a rotating shift. Obtain a valid Class A CDL by the fifth month of employment. Must pass a health and physical assessment and meet NERC/FERC requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 (three) years' experience in overhead and underground electrical line work
- Competency level 4 in the Dominion Lineman Development program in both overhead and underground energized line work
- Must be able to lift 75lbs
- Solid understanding of industrial electrical distribution systems and maintenance techniques
- Understanding and competence in switching practices related to the electrical distribution industry
- Knowledge of Safety processes and practices within the industrial electrical distribution industry
- Strong communications skills verbal and written
- Ability to understand industry 3-way communication method
- Ability to work alone 90% of the time while still being part of a local team
- Ability to meet and maintain applicable NERC/FERC requirements
- Ability to obtain a valid class A CDL by the end of the 5th month of employment
- Call out, overtime availability, and ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to maintain a weight below 290 pounds
- Must pass a health and physical assessment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience
