Job Summary
The Electric Quality Control Expert will conduct field assessments of Hawaiian Electric’s facilities, ensuring that tools, equipment, and work standards are adhered to for safe and efficient operations. The role involves inspecting construction work for compliance with standards, supporting personnel training on safety procedures, and participating in emergency response activities. Candidates must possess advanced knowledge of electric utility regulatory requirements and construction standards, along with effective communication skills for conveying findings and recommendations. Extensive experience in electrical utilities and relevant certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or a combination of experience and education preferred
- Graduate of an approved USDOL Electrical Lineman apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Extensive experience (8 or more years) in Electrical Utilities Transmission and Distribution or closely related field
- Minimum 10 years of Journeyman Lineman level work experience ideally leading crews
- 3-5 years experience in T&D Construction Inspector, Trouble Inspector and/or conducting root cause investigations
Desired Qualifications
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Improvement Specialist or Certified Quality Auditor certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification
Additional Requirements
- Candidates will be required to provide documentation of apprenticeship completion.
- Must have or be able to obtain a State of Hawaii Class 3 driver’s license.
