Job Summary
Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician in Elkridge, MD. Responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing EPG rental equipment including Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, and UPS and paralleling equipment at Carter Machinery facilities or at customer sites. Requires advanced troubleshooting, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in the field or as part of a team; prepared to respond to after-hours emergency service and travel as needed, with CDL/DOT certification expected or obtainable. 1st shift, with competitive compensation and benefits, plus sign-on bonus potential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Thorough understanding of gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps
- Experience with UPS and parallels; diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures and mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in the field and in a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities; commitment to customer service
- Willingness to travel out of town, including out of the country; availability for after-hours emergency service (24/7/365)
- Ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification; excellent driving record
