Job Summary
Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician in Manassas, VA on 1st shift. Responsibilities include servicing, diagnosing, and repairing EPG rental equipment (gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps) at Carter or customer facilities; field support; loadbank testing; delivering excellent customer service; coordinating with a team; and maintaining documentation. Requires electrical knowledge of generator systems, ability to test batteries and fuel tanks, willingness to travel to meet customer demands (out of town and abroad), strong troubleshooting skills, and effective communication. Eligible for a sign-on bonus; base pay range $30.45-$44.40/hour; comprehensive benefits and overtime opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Thorough electrical knowledge and understanding of gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps
- Ability to test batteries, fuel tanks, all gensets including loadbanking
- Willingness to work in the field to support PSD rental equipment
- Good trouble shooting skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Well organized with ability to prioritize workload and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Willingness to travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands
- Must have an excellent driving record and ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
