Job Summary
ELECTRIC POWER GENERATION (EPG) RENTAL TECHNICIAN responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps and used equipment at Carter or customer facilities. Requires experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing engine failures, and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Travel to support PSD rental equipment, after-hours emergency service, and willingness to work additional hours. CDL/DOT certification preferred; driving record must be excellent. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather; strong communication and teamwork are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps
- Ability to perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, UPS and paralleling
- Ability to work independently in the field to support PSD rental equipment
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Team-oriented
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to travel out of town, including out of country, to meet customer demands
- Ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds; tolerate outdoor weather conditions
