Job Summary
The Electric NERC Compliance Consultant, Expert is responsible for supporting and monitoring the organization’s compliance and risk-management framework to ensure adherence to NERC standards, laws, and regulations. The role partners with Electric Engineering, Asset Management and Planning, and Electric Operations to guide mitigation planning, influence policy and regulatory strategy across WECC, FERC and CAISO, and to manage responses to regulatory data requests, audits, and investigations. The position requires the selected candidate to reside within PG&E’s service territory and to work in the office 2-3 days/week. Key activities include developing and monitoring controls and mitigation plans, leading root cause analyses, participating in enterprise risk-management forums, building data-driven business cases for risk mitigation, supporting WECC/FERC audits, and contributing to regulatory policy discussions. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree and electrical engineering background are preferred. The salary range for the Bay Area is $122,000–$194,000 and reflects locality-based pay. The role is an individual contributor position with hybrid work in California and involves collaboration across multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with strong emphasis on analytics, reporting, and effective communication of complex data to executives.
