Job Summary
The Electric Motor Rewinder is responsible for safely performing data collection and rewinding of AC/DC electric motors and related components, including testing and documentation. The role requires a skilled understanding of electric motors and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will work independently without supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to match mark while disassembling and reassembling equipment
- General understanding of AC and DC power circuits
- General understanding of Navy service motors (Type A and C)
- General understanding of electric motor troubleshooting
- General understanding of electrical measurements in electric motors
- Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items associated with Electric Motors (e.g. 009-15, 009-17, 009-33, 009-113)
- Ability to burnout and strip existing windings on an electric motor
- Ability to manufacture winding coils from data collected during removal
- Ability to install and connect motor coils
