Job Summary
Enter residential and commercial properties to access electric meters for setting, changing, disconnecting, and reading investigations. Drive 75% of the day to respond to meter issues with energized equipment, specifically for Xcel, while performing heavy manual labor including lifting up to 80 lbs, climbing, and working in tight or uneven spaces. Maintain high-quality workmanship and provide customer service with humility. Pass a motor vehicle record check, criminal background check, and drug screen, and hold a valid driver's license. Requires two-plus years of customer service experience and familiarity with electricity and ladder work.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
- Two (2+) plus years of customer service experience
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Driving (75%/day)
- Entering residential and commercial property to access the electric meter to perform required work
- Working with energized electric equipment to respond to meter issue for Xcel
Desired Qualifications
- One (2+) plus years of working with electricity and on ladders preferred
