Electric Distribution Designer Trainee

Job Summary
Complete field notes and staking sheets while utilizing level rods and prism poles to determine elevations for electric distribution line construction. Lay out stakes for map-making, land construction, and transmission line surveys, and cut brush or trees from the line of sight using a machete or chainsaw. Maintain crew vehicle supplies and organize equipment, ensuring personal responsibility for work product quality and accuracy. Work outdoors for extended hours with occasional overtime and overnight travel, complying with safety regulations while managing time and multi-tasking demands. Report to the office in Spring Branch, Texas, with a full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Possess a current Texas Driver's License with an insurable driving record
- Ability to walk and carry hammers, stakes, lathes, etc. for the purpose of laying out staking for Electric Distribution Design over and across various terrain
- Requires lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of weights
- Sitting/standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors extended hours, occasional overtime, and overnight travel
- High School diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in distribution line design and staking
- Experience with boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, construction staking, ROW staking, staking of electric distribution lines, staking electric transmission lines
- Familiarity of GPS equipment and data collection
