Job Summary
Conduct ride outs of proposed fiber paths on job sites to evaluate make-ready conditions and propose solutions. Manage engineering and electric distribution line construction contractors while attending safety meetings and performing JSA checks. Oversee scheduling with timeline production, track progress, verify output, and reconcile invoices. Maintain cost control for project(s) and submit weekly status reports. Ensure strict adherence to OSHA electrical safety standards, NESC clearances, and utility attachment permitting. Navigate job sites using electronic maps and GPS to supervise teams in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical distribution engineering, construction or staking experience
- Strong knowledge of electric distribution design and construction, including poles, devices, equipment and ability to change pole design or framing to suit fiber plant installation
- Understanding of construction work order processes and ability to read work orders
- Knowledge of OSHA electrical safety standards and PPE requirements
- Understanding of RUS electric assembly units
- Thorough understanding of NESC standards and clearances
- Knowledge of utility attachments, ROW permitting, construction and quality control
- Ability to navigate to job sites by reading electronic maps and GPS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication and employee supervision skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of commonly used co-op staking software packages is a plus. (NISC, SEDC, Milsoft)
