Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to Elders at the House of Respect, administering medications, documenting conditions, and assisting with examinations and treatments. Participate in nursing care planning, team conferences, and hospice/end-of-life care while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional boundaries. Collaborate with the healthcare team to educate families on aging processes and assist residents in adjusting to life changes. Perform other duties as assigned, including weekly supply ordering and on-the-job training for new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Minimum two (2) years experience in Elder care within the last four (4) years
- Demonstrable triage and assessment skills
- Experience and/or ability to work with an Electronic Medical Health Record System
- Intermediate computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets
- Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, and other relevant policies
- Ability to effectively incorporate confidentiality into daily work habits
- Appropriate judgment skills to make independent decisions in routine client care matters
- Ability to take initiative and responsibility for decisions as an individual
- Commitment to the goals and vision of the department
- Ability to place the needs of the client first at all times
- Adherence to ethical business practices conforming to highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity and honesty
- Professionalism and mindful regard to client's privacy, personal effects, safety, health and well-being

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to perform one person transfer under routine and emergency situations
- Ability to reposition a bedbound patient alone
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Ability to sign a release of information to obtain a Washington State Driving Abstract
- CPR/First Aid certification obtainable within the first 90 days of employment
- Ability to submit and pass a criminal background check prior to employment
- Ability to submit to random drug testing
